Noise caused by the components them selves is often as a result of cheap or faulty parts, bad assembly etc. ![]() Outside interference is electrical radiation being picked up by almost any component in your rig mostly due to lack of proper ground and/or shielding. Noise is mainly caused by two things – outside interference and noisy components (usually a combination of both). In this first of two articles we’ll look at the basics, the reasons for noise and how to solve the problem. It’s frustrating but there are many things you can do to reduce noise to a minimum. We’ve all experienced hissing, buzz, crackle and hum. Noise is every guitarists’ worst enemy.
